Accepting applications for the ANA Innovation Awards, powered by BD

Silver Spring, MD - BD is proud to partner with the American Nurses Association (ANA) to launch the ANA Innovation Awards. These awards will highlight and recognize nurse-led innovation that improved patient safety and outcomes.

"We are excited to announce the launch of this new program. The ANA Innovation Awards will play a critical role in advancing and celebrating nursing innovation," said ANA Enterprise CEO Loressa Cole, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE. "We look forward to seeing the influential work nurses are producing to improve nursing practice and the delivery of quality patient care."

The ANA Innovation Awards will be presented to a nurse and to a nurse-led team whose projects best exemplify nurse-led innovation. The awards include a $25,000 individual nurse award and a $50,000 nurse-led team award to support the use of translational research, development, prototyping, production, testing and implementation for an innovative product, program, project, or practice transformative to patient safety and/or outcomes.

"BD is thrilled to support the American Nurses Association Innovation Awards and the more than 3.8 million nurses in the U.S. who are on the front lines of providing critical care to patients in need," said Kelly Larrabee Robke, RN, MBA, MS, Vice President of Nursing Engagement for Medication Management Solutions for BD. "This award embodies everything we strive to achieve in reinventing medication management through the evolution of care and we applaud the ANA for establishing a program that awards innovation to address challenges in healthcare."

BD's generous contribution to the Foundation is in direct support of the ANA Innovation Awards program for the next three years. Award recipients will have one year to further develop their innovation and will return to present their project outcomes at the following year's ANA Quality & Innovation Conference.

Applications will be accepted through December 31, 2018 and evaluated by a blind, peer review process conducted by a panel of national experts. For more information about the awards criteria and how to apply, visit www.nursingworld.org/aia
